Analog keys/A4 OS

did I get it right that the A4 and Akeys will share the same OS? Does that mean poly mode for both?

Poly mode and +drive confirmed for existing A4.

Sweet!

Such a sweet bit of news for existing owners. They really did take care of thier own.

Yeah it is realy nice that current a4 users benefit from the Keys version and the OS update aswell.
Was pissed back when waldorf released their blokeys and wanted 99 euro for the sample upgrade, even the flash memory was allrdy inbuild in the desktop version.
Glad to see that elektron takes a more userfriendly route.

Also new filter mode “extreme resonance”…

Really? missed that!

But no new FX.

So this multimode is going into the rack a4? And whats this Cenk said “load from audio pool”?

Yes, multi mode to AF as opposed to AK. The pool is the sounds in AF you can currently soundlock. The 4k of sounds mentioned in demo are in +drive and cannot be soundlocked unless copied into pool ! Not sure how AF will enter into some of those modes though as we’re a few buttons down !

Noticed the double-tap for quick muting / activating tracks. Very handy update. The new machine looks fantastic but I’m glad my tack version will soon be refreshed too.

also MIDI out from the keyboard, joystick and knobs, but not from the sequencer I guess…

Two great questions:

  1. release date?
  2. will be the sounds and patterns i made with 1.06 os compatible with new os?

Jon said the update would be out in December.

Remember that the plus drive is a form of “offline” storage.

The 128 patches that are in the instant memory can be sequenced on the fly (meaning that you can have 64 different sounds on 64 sequencer steps).

You can only do this with the sounds in the main memory. Not with the sounds on the +drive since it it slower memory.

I think that’s what Cenk means with audiopool.

really true about the +drive?

thats amazing! I mentioned that in the A4editor thread how my A4 was getting chokka with random sounds and variations of and how a more storage would help.

and here it is

He’s using the fn button, so this is not a new muting method, sorry, fn button is right next to Trk buttons now on the AK !

not yet anyway, sadly …

But thats great to control the Monomachine!

indeed
