this one has been implemented already and explained in the manual: page 15, 5.13
More effects please!
Elektron has this machine abandoned.
It would seem so.
More, or less abandoned than the then DT1, or the OTMK1, or the Rytm?
But those are old models. Analog Heat+FX is a more or less actual device.
These old models were not abandoned by Elektron, but got updated long after everyone thought it was over for them.
Since AH+FX is a much more modern machine it is too soon to know if this machine is already dead.
I own one and want new candies for it, but within the analog domain in new ways of routing the signal if possible.
I don’t know if they ever do this but I would love for them to let us know if development is dead on this. I would loooooove some more digital fx, and if the DSP can’t handle more simultaneous FX, let me use a selection of FX that the DSP can handle.
I do find it odd that the Tonverk has more and arguably “better” effects than the Heat+FX. Especially since the “+FX” is the selling point for this model over the AH mk2
From Elektron’s specifications:
AH+FX effects
- Noise Gate
- Reverb
- Delay
- Chorus
- Warble
- Bits
- Compressor
- Bass focus
Tonverk effects
- Comb +/- Filter
- Filterbank
- Filter Folder
- Infinite Flanger
- Panoramic Chorus
- Phase 98
- Warble
- Chrono Pitch
- Frequency Warper
- Compressor
- Degrader
- Dirtshaper
- Daisy Delay
- Saturator Delay
- Rumsklang Reverb
- Steel Box Reverb
- Supervoid Reverb
What features would be on your request list for Analog Heat mk4?
Analog compressor?
Heat 3 work for you in your main setup?
What could be better done or make the unit more powerfull?
Two stereo inputs (or 3).
TV effects and plockable routing.
Am I the only one who would get pissed off if they released an mk4 now without doing anything with the+FX?
If I actually started using all the features on AH +FX, I’d basically already have Analog Heat 4.
Mental gymnastics for the win.
Today I bought this device. It’s such a unique deice and it could be a flagship product if they decide to invest on it by developing a new firmware that pushes this machine to its limits. Adding new digital effects could be a game changer and a pivot point for this deice. I know that its extremely complex to develop because they combine analog + degital which makes things to implement extremely god-mode difficult (if you want to keep latency low) but at least they could give us 7-10 new effects (even with output delay) and the whole heat community will be happy. New customers will arrive. Keep in mind that i bought this device based on the hope I have that they will add more effects. I know Elektron is a company that can throw a big firmware update even years after the release of a device… So let’s see…
Never a good idea
DIRECT (MENU-LESS) PRESET LOAD / SAVE
While I understand why the load / save menu might have been added as a default setting, I really wish it was possible to toggle settings switch to allow the “menu-less” presets operations as described in the quick start.
ELASTIC RESONACE / RESONANCE FILTER TRACKING
This must be a familiar issue - for a DJ style HPF sweep, we often want to apply higher resonance with higher frequencies and lower resonance with lower frequencies, in order to avoid boosting low frequencies too much.
Therefore I propose a third screen for the heat section, that would have the following:
- resonance filter tracking (RFT) - on / off
- RFT profile - list of various frequency x resonance profiles - linear ramp up, linear ramp down, exp. ramp up, exp. ramp down, U-shape, inverse U-shape…
- RFT amount - intensity of the profile, the amount of resonance that is scaled by the profile shape
- RFT skew / slope / stretch - some sort of reshaping of the profile
I hope this would prove to have boarder creative application than the above mentioned case.
FILTER FREQUENCY AS MOD SOURCE
No words necessary.
