Analog Four – The Best You Can Do!

This is a mission focusing on sound design with the A4.

Objectives
Show something you have done yourself! Let’s hear your best …

  • Hats, pads, kicks, basses, metal, ambiences, noises, fx, …
  • Modulations, macros, am, fm, …
  • Plain sounds, one shots, loops, stabs, sequences, tracks, and whatever crosses your mind

Rules
100% Your own work
100% A4
Audio only, embedded mp3/wav preferred

Background
This thread is an invitation to sharing and learning about the design of sounds, methods and techniques specific to the A4 from each other without any need for perfection. It will only live through your active participation.

Similarly to the infamous Science Lab for Syntakt, I imagined a thread where we can dedicate some time to explore and share what can be done solely with the A4.
And while there’s no predefined machines that can be used and abused we might have to focus on specific areas, synthesis techniques or targets to jointly follow along. Or think about something you’ve never touched so far. Suggestions are always welcome!

Goal for every post should be to show something you have done yourself. These can be single sounds you’re happy with, but also entire sequences and tracks. Ideally you tell us how you’ve done it and what made you choose this approach. Sharing of patches as a learning resource for the community would also be very welcome.

Please be so kind to not derail this thread.
There’s many threads to discuss incredible appreciation, pros and cons, tips and tricks, buy and sell, and most things have been (often redundantly) talked about ad nauseam. You’ll find it elsewhere if you want to. Thank you!

Now, let’s go and have some fun! :mirror_ball:

These are two old tracks…

One take of A4 + Chihiro samples

And here with AR and sequencing 0-Coast:

My album is entirely done on the A4 (except for a few vocal samples). No DAW. All tracks recorded in one take through Overstayer Modular Channel and Elysia xpressor neo into Akai Force.

today’s alienwarez, all basses are A4 (MD drum synths on drum duties, DN2 chords)

I’ll not bother than, seeing as I’m not a mind reader.

A4 mk1, single take, nuffink else. it’s a couple of years old tbh. I posted it as a video in the other thread back then.

[I do have more stuff written but haven’t recorded em yet. new years resolution… record everything…hopefully]

Tuning the OSCs really low is a good Basis for rhythmical Noise.

A lot of « not only A4 » are posted. It doesn’t feel like a Science Lab anymore.

Let’s see if this still can turn into something, shall we?

We can’t read your minds. If you or OP wants A4 only, then say it

OT now

Added another paragraph to clarify in the OP.
Come waste your time with us. Or not. Entirely up to you.

Edit:
I created this thread with best intentions for everyone interested in sharing and learning out of an impulse that originated here:

It’s fine if you don’t feel at home in this. Maybe it was a mistake to assume that the slightly rephrased opening post carries the same intention. I tried my best, but after all I am not a native speaker. Apologies if anyone got hurt.

Yeah more of a caged animal in a zoo.

I’ve had the Analog Four MK2 one week but really got to playing around this past Friday. For now, I’m just checking out presents and finding my way around. So far, I’m very impressed and a bit overwhelmed. I’m a samples guy, so this is new territory for me. Also, I had to hook up my DFAM, because it was collecting dust and needed to make its way back in my setup. Anyways, this is my first (very basic) track using the A4, DFAM and one sample from my D2. Nothing groundbreaking here, just making a groove.
