Analog Four MKII - Track Out - SIGNAL LOSS

Setting up my Analog Four MKII for multi track recording.

  1. switched the Voice Routing ‘To Main’ OFF
  2. connect 1/4 TRS to the four single outputs Track 1- 4

Here is the problem:
If I push the 1/4 TRS fully in I get a signal loss of 30db !!!
If I leave the cable not fully plugged in I get full signal!

If I use the same cable for the Main Out and plug it fully in - perfect signal. (This proves its not a cable problem)

Do I miss something in the settings?
Anyone else with a similar problem?

It proves you’re using the cables incorrectly nonetheless - each case needs a different cable

The main outs are TRS balanced mono compatible

The individual outs are not balanced, they are simply stereo TRS

So there’s nothing wrong with your A4 it’s simply that you’ve probably not put the right cable in the right destination at your mixer … i.e. TRS to dual TS mono for each track

The outputs are stereo, not balanced.
If you plug in a TRS cable to the A4 then the other end of the cable needs to have two TS jacks (ie an insert cable). The two TS will be L and R.

If you use TRS to TRS, basically your left and right signals are cancelling each other out and producing an attenuated signal.

Hi…i am a new user here. As per my knowledge the main outs are TRS balanced mono compatibleThe individual outs are not balanced, they are simply stereo TRS.So there’s nothing wrong with your A4 it’s simply that you’ve probably not put the right cable in the right destination at your mixer.
