Go to page 1, hold whatever button gets assigned to step loop (step loop mode is active) and then hold step 2 and press and hold step 4? It loops between 2 and 4.
If you now press and hold 2 and 5, it loops between 2 and 5.
If you press and hold 8 and then press page, it lets you go to another page - press and hold a step there, let’s say step 10 on page 2 and now the sequence loops between 8 on page 1 and 10 on page 2.
Press no to get out of step loop mode.
Restricting step loop to 16 steps of one page (the active page) would already be an awesome performance tool. More than a page, that would be cumbersome at best with 16 step buttons imho. But I mean, it could work with the buttons we have. Just have to let the user page through while the first step gets held.
Btw. For testing out ideas, track length and rotating the sequencer works well enough.
We should all submit this as feature request. Closing the gap to the Tr8s and other gear that can do stuff like that can only be in Elektron’s interest.

Control all is really cool but A4 needs that “reload pattern” what is in digitone etc. Now i need to make kits or reload the whole project if i want to get back to original. That “no” works only in one track and cant reload if i change the track while tweeking.
Ive always found the A4’s pattern save/reload & kit save/reload to be an amazing feature. elegant. sure as with the older elektrons u gotta make sure you save your stuff, but now with ctrl-all it’s an even better feature imo.
Yes, but when i’m holding the track and want to change to another track for tweaking then it cant reload the pattern by pushing “no”. It only cancels the previous changes.
Why wouldn’t you want to make and save Kits? Think of them as an extra layer of redundancy: they uncouple the track sounds from the pattern data.
That being said, what you are describing would effectively be reloading the Kit and the Pattern at the same time or in quick succession. There is an option called “Reload kit on change”. I have not tested any of this, but maybe by using pattern chains or direct/temp jumps with “Reload kit on change” turned on you could come up with a workflow to achieve what you need?
