I recently got a second had Syntakt and was configuring it to respond to the Octatrack.
I successfully configured a couple of tracks sending 10 MIDI CCs on multiple tracks when I got stuck trying to configure the Analog Cymbal.
I have a strange MIDI rooting because I control a modular synth with the Octatrack and I’m somehow trying to replicate a live configuration on the Syntakt to replace the modular. I first thought I did apply two midi channels somewhere on the ST. The Analog Cymbal (track 12) is rooted to MIDI channel 16. The track triggers properly but no MIDI CC is received.
I thought there must be a bug on the OT so I assigned the Analog Cymbal to another MIDI channel. For this I used a channel that was working fine on another track of the ST and made no assignement to it. Same result: I get a trigger, but no CC message desplayed or heard on track 12…
Anyone has an idea what’s going on?
I’m using firmware 1.21
Theres a whole lot of weirdness with syntakts cc assignments. Have a look at the struggles I had with octatrack controlling syntakt around sep2023 in the ST hugs thread. May be related.
OP see if the issue changes if you set syntakt’s param output to CC or NRPN…
Afaik there hasnt been a fix to that bug yet, I wouldnt be surprised if there were more issues with midi implementation that hadnt surfaced yet since the once mentioned above were tbh pretty careless and embarrassing mistakes for elektron to make.
Difference could be ot’s bi-directional midi, @sezare56, that was what threw the proverbial spanner in the works in my case and I wonder if it is also for OP.
This topic seems specific to Analog Cymbal machine, control it with CCs.
Not a bi-directionnal problem with OT. I can try if you wish, if you sum up (maybe in bug thread).
