IDMish arcade-sound ride on the Elektron classics.
MachineDrum MKII used as sequencer for the SID-Station plus using the gate-input machines on MD as noise gate.
MD-midi machines controlling the arp-speed on the SID-Station (using the FLOATING-7 preset)
Ctrl all action used a lot on the MD this time 
Live recorded in a single take on 1010 BlueBox.
Delay and reverb added here.

ok so after 5 years of owning the machinedrum, i accidentally found out that you can trigger patterns from midi notes lol. insert mindblown.gif
does anyone know if the OT can do this as well? i looked on the manual but couldn’t find anything… this would actually be fucking amazing for glitchy breaks but sadly my MD is the non UW version
so yeah even after years of owning this machine it still manages to excite me. best elektron machine next to the OT hands down

Yes you can do the same with OT
Midi notes or manualy with trigs and you can use Hold to let play the pattern? (Edit: no not patterns but tracks) the time you want, kind of gate
Same in MD
Edit : yes really mad beat with mapping
the OT does accept notes for samples/slots/slices/quick mutes etc, but i can’t find anything about note mapping to patterns
You can even set a midi note to start play the sequencer or another to stop it.
very useful workaround for the “pattern start one bar later” problem

Edit : sorry, i was note clear, i talked about patterns, but it was tracks. Very powerful thing
Edit 2 : i haven’t try my following recipe, i will do toonight, but midi (or manual) launching tracks, 8 tracks independently from sequencer, plus 4 parts, plus possibilities to change patterns with midi offers lot of opportunities to have rythm fun. I stop here, cause that’s not the place.
Here i can say that midi mapping with MD is very very fun and powerfull.
First time using Midi-Machines on the MD in combination with MCL (adding micro-timing, conditional trigs, polymeters and all that stuff) to control an external synth (Roland TB-303).
In this setup MD mutates to a sequencing monster - with so many midi machines you could use in principle - in combination with the drums - insane!
Entire track just done on max 16 steps (!).
Recorded in a single take on 1010 BlueBox (delay and reverb added here).

Great stuff. This semi-inspired me today with the MD / 303 combo and resulted in me ripping apart my home studio as I went back to putting all my devices on a shelf and selecting 3-4 boxes to put on my desk instead of standing up at my Jaspers rack where programming hardware on low / high shelves is a bit tedious resulting in neglect of machines.
I grabbed the following:
Machinedrum
Monomachine (but didn’t turn it on today)
RE-303
Prophet-6
Anyhow relearning the Machinedrum has been fun as I never used it previously to sequence other gear. I had it sequencing my RE-303 nicely via MIDI machines and also feeding it back in the Machinedrum Input for FX which was a blast especially with Cntrl-All and reload. The 303 sounds very nice in the same MD mix with the drums.
Also sequencing my Prophet 6 with basic notes (output to DAW) but maybe the MM maybe better suited for this.
Sampling into the MD is my next experiment as I have never done that before.
Tempted to get a Megacommand for micro timing / individual track length and other crazy stuff but need to watch more videos.
Anyhow the Oxi One and newer drum machines are sitting in the corner for a few week at least!

Do you plan re-sampling or using external samples
(on my to-do list: Transfer samples from/to MachineDrum - #17 by AdamJay).
Question to all Machindrummers:
Also external samples being transferred are reduced to 12bit?
Does it make a difference sound wise, if you just transfer or sample on the machine?

I have so far only sampled in from my OP-1F as a test with mixed success, need to read up a little but not even getting a full bar recorded. I believe it is limited time per sample limit but thought would have longer then my results.
Will also read up on sending samples to the machine and requirements / conversion tools. Presume I need the T1 Turbo gadget for this which I have hidden away somewhere.
This morning I also brushed up on the overall machine structure as I forgot that - Snapshots / Sample banks etc. There are still a good 40 snapshots and loads of sample banks from the previous owner on my machine (presume factory default just comes with the one)
Have quite a lot of basic Qs in my head I need to read up on but having a blast revisiting
