Am I the only one? [Machinedrum love]

I started with the Sequential Drum Trax way back in the 80’s. Picked up a MD and used it for years. Finally sold it to help me with early retirement. It is a great machine, but to me it is not up to the current going price. Sold mine for enough to buy a MacBookPro, XO and Drum Computer. Software has finally caught up. I would buy MD again for a decent price, but I don’t expect prices to ever come down. Not unless Elektron releases a new version.

I had a similar experience when I saw them at the GSA in 2005 except it was for the MNM… it took me a few years to work up the bravery to spend that much cash on a synth but was so glad I did… and it it took even longer to finally get an MDUW. I was so pleased when that gig leaked as it was so good to relive it… the beats were so crisp and clear in the room. I recall travelling back from the gig in disbelief as my best pal and ex-wife who were there with me were complaining about how it wasn’t even a real gig because you coudn’t see anything… heathens!

i hadn;t even considered the fact that was one of the rare times i saw them in pretty much lit conditions…
i wonder if it helped the crowds energy too as there was a lots of hands in the air and shared movements.
still, prefer total black out for ae.

Got another MKI coming in a couple weeks, all the way from Lithuania… supposed to be in excellent condition so fingers crossed no issues

If it’s been gently/hardly used I think it’s fine. Hard to even find a compatible power supply though. If it’s a money thing so long as it’s below $900 I think it’s worth it. Non-UW MKII prices are a huge jump which sucks

That was the first time I was aware of how lights off they were… I’d seen them before in Edinburgh for the Confield tour but I don’t recall it being so dark just that there wasn’t much light on the stage. And that some really drunk neds weren’t ready for Russell Haswell’s opening set… :rofl:

Pity the sound is not better, it looks like they were on fire that night!
(I have also seen them on this tour - in Nantes - and it was pretty cool!)

MCL off for this back to bassics bunch of patterns. Hold tight current sounds massive.

Just looked and reverb doesn’t have shit right now for older units under 1500$ it seems better to go all the way and get a UW+ mkii

Why would you want an A4, AR and OT in one box?

:thinking::thinking::thinking:

AR + A4 + OT = dark trinity
MD + MM + OT = old trinity (aka Dataline trinity)

I know this is tongue in cheek but I’d throw way too much money at this.

Back to the subject…

And remember…
