Alien Earth

Seems like every opinion (on everything, everywhere ha) is mega polarized. I think the show is pretty good.

I also enjoy the licensed tracks at the end of each episode. Maybe I wouldn’t have used that specific Metallica track, but that’s ok. The Tool track got me in the mood for more episodes.

I don’t mind them, but I wish they’d chosen something else than the most famous dad rock staples of all time, hah. Like Ministry or Nine Inch Nails or something

Must admit I was surprised when I heard Metallica, assumed it was a cover at first. Didn’t seem to have the right vibe.

Semi enjoying the show, I say semi as I sometimes drift off and have to rewind / backtrack on a few episodes. I thought the Alien rehash episode was quite well done but there were several “why?” screaming moments from my household!!

Honestly the show is “good enough” which for the Alien franchise at this point is a breath of fresh air.
Like I love the first two films so much that I’m just thankful to have something that’s “watchable”.

I have to say, an eyeball with eyes on it is stupid in my opinion. It’s like they got a middle-schooler to design it.

Best show on TV for me at the moment. Big fan of the first two films, the rest not so much.

As for the end credit tunes, the titles / lyrics are all to do with the plot of each episode. At least I make that connection any way.

The Alien has a mouth with a mouth though, that ok?

Jesus Built My Hotrod would KILL at the end of an episode.

the music composer is Jeff Russo , check his instagram. he also made the soundtrack of Legion , wich is very psychedelic and enjoyable. This is a good show and a nice entry in the Alien Universe i think. I’m a big fan of Noah Halley and what he’s done on the Legion Show.

i think you will realize the eye potential of the character only when he will manage to parasite a human body , i think that’s the plot.

if you are relaxed enough to allow yourself the pleasure of enjoyment then yes you will enjoy it, there are some good lead actors and some hilarious slapstick worthy of mel brooks too! lots of fun overall

Yeah there’s some corny elements, but to me that’s part of the charm.

its funny and probably says more about me than anything else but when i heard the soundtrack i thought, yeah i could do that on my a4 mk1

If you haven’t seen Raised by Wolves, it is a must watch beyond the regret of WHBDiscOvMax+ being run by overpaid middle-managers that sat on their balls into becoming powerful executives and absolutely hate every media they are in charge of, exponentially so for things that aren’t “properties” and “extended universes”

I actually wasn’t a big fan.

milkysnakes isn’t for everyone, I get.

i’m more mad that it was dumped for worse content than that not everyone loving it though

For a very, very tired franchise I think they did OK cramming a few new ideas in there.

I’d watch it just for the impregnated sheep alone!

I’m enjoying it a lot, but I tend to enjoy stuff. I also thought Romulus was great, even though it was kind of a parade of references to the original Alien.

I am the same. People tend to go into details, especially regarding old franchises. They kinda fetishize them, so everything is sacred and if you steer away from original they bitch about it online.
I say who cares, have fun, make new stuff, i think Alien Earth is good and interesting. I am enjoying it every Wednesday
