The Prodigy Music For The Jilted Generation

You know, I think about this a lot because I download music and put it on my iPhone, the old Sean Timberlake style

And I can’t deal with filler so when I’m doing a task that’s gonna get my hands dirty, even though I could ask Siri to skip, it’s not ideal

And lately, it’s really feeling like Skeletal Lamping is damn near perfect. So surprising but never strays too far into weirdness without a nice pleasing and inventive melody behind it. I guess it’s an acquired taste, and I hadnt listened to these guys for like 12 years at least. But relistening makes me really appreciate it

This is a great thread! So many answers I agree with (and so many Radiohead albums I would put on here!) but here are a few that haven’t appeared yet:

Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robot
Red House Painters - Songs for a Blue Guitar
Al Green - Let’s Stay Together
Rage Against the Machine - Rage Against the Machine

Going to nostalgia revive this thead for The Hour of Bewilderbeast by Badly Drawn Boy

Though there are instrumental breaks they’re as perfectly placed as the songs and were originally what hooked me in when a friend said they sounded like the music I was making at the time. Would never have thought of this record when this thread came up but decided to put it on yesterday after years and it’s a perfect album.

Also made me reintrigued over where the “please help me find my way” sample comes from, I always imagined a film but it turns out it’s sampler repitching magic!

“not sure anyone asked this question before… but yeah it’s me trying to sound like a little boy lost. I spoke fairly high into a sampler and then pitched it up slightly too.”

Damn I was just listening to this at work the other day and thinking the same thing. It just doesn’t feel right not to listen to the whole thing from beginning to end.
