Hopefully they’re full of left over Live 2 guts and the OS is a bare bones ver ~2.6

Removing 70% of legacy os would be a very killer way to ramp people into the beef of Live 3.

I can’t tell if it is a 60 reimagining or a happy meal toy… it is hilarious they used the knob’s from the 2000 and the fader from the 1000… makes it feel like a weird incest baby. The wrist pad really rounds out the whole wtf vibe it has going for it… you pull it out your backpack in the park but need a wrist rest? It is so weird… I kind of am drawn to it in a future apocalyptic way I guess, not enough to buy it though, somehow I feel my ko2 feels more serious… lol

re: the speakers, they’re pretty convenient for a portable device as long as you accept they’re not going to sound good. For this kind of device, just being able to turn it on and do some finger drumming from the couch while watching tv or something would’ve been a use case they considered while designing.

Dang, this is not the MPC One Mk2 that I expected, but it is indeed cute.

That’s MPC Zero, obviously.

Any dimensions on this?

Looks like three.

im guessing its a little thicker than the ep133 in each direction

Based on the knob size, I’d guess the case is about 8" × just under 10".

Honestly, this looks like exactly what I wanted from Akai.

If the pads are mpc one + sized

Probably a little more than the 10.66 figure, I thought it was parallax, didn’t realize the rear actually angles away.

This is what I always wanted from them. They are going to sell a zillion of these.

They should start a new line with this, Akai Professionalish.

mannnnn i wish it didn’t have the li-ion battery inside. i’d rather take a power cable or replaceable batteries with a power supply a lá the 404SX. i get the need for portability but i dunno, i prefer not having a paper weight in the future whenever it drains for good. it looks cool though!
