AKAI Force

I always thought of it as more like the Joker. It was the only one to openly show the shortcomings of the king (MPC) that got to stuck in its old ways. Hopefully this is not the end…

Yeah, with the 4GB & tilt-screen mods as well as the OS mod the Force is set to hold you down for many years. But more Akia OS updates would be nice.

Even tho MPC3 gave the current gen MPCs new life it still feels like that platform has reached it end. I think they just gave it to them to prepare for the new gen that come built with MPC3 so the difference won’t be so jarring.

A MPC with 32 pads like the Move & the Force clip-matrix would be nice, but I still like the Force more. 64 pads, 8 knobs & a crossfader is hard to beat. A Force mk2 would be amazing!

Daymn was still holding out hope for some kind of update, to at least get access to the other plugins that are Mpc only

It’s all fake news.

No it’s not, a guy on the internet said it was true.

I checked this thread because it seems like I will be buying another Force tomorrow. And was hoping for the update os ))

Hopefully Akai will still an update like they said they would, but who knows. There always the MockbaMod OS hack if you need more features on the Force: https://youtu.be/XxU1bfDu7g4?si=VxPUeeVsb46y0euX

I’ll pickup a second one cheap in a year or so and do the 3rd party OS for sure.

After watching loads of vids on the Move, and having previous experience with Push and Deluge. I really hope Akai will move away from the 16 pads. It had its day but I feel with with having more pads like the previous devices just gives more freedom in playing melodies, chords but also can subsequently function better as a step sequencer. All I’m saying is there’s so many more possibilities.

Wish they do something like the Force but smaller.

I feel you about the limit of 16 pads. 32 is the most I can see the MPC having & still being a MPC. 48 would be weird & 64 would be the Force 2.

I’m arguing with some dude on MPC forums right nowover this. He’s a 90s Hip-Hop head BTW, couldn’t understand why someone would need to chop a 8 bar sample into 64 chops & why having 64 pads to play everything at once may have some benefits.

Here’s the link if what to laugh: https://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=212155&start=30#p1886426

I was arguing with Jpeg. Also the word “He’ll” is an inside joke. Someone meant to type Hell & I pointed it out jokingly & it became a funny thing we do.

That jpeg seems like a tool.

You don’t know the half of it. At first you can’t tell if he’s trolling or just that dense, but the more you engage the more you realize he not a troll. For the most part I just ignore him since his proved from past posts that’s he not cable of admitting when he’s wrong or at lease missed someones point. But then he’ll make up some BS theory to support his way of thinking. Nobody on the that site got time for that.

Ever since 2019, we couldn’t get him to shut about MPC3.0 because of the Arranger & the Force mixer view after Dan talked about the 2 OS’s merging. Then gonna ask me, “why I want the MPC to be like the Force already exist?” for saying I like the 64 pads & that a MPC with 32 pads like the Move would be dope. His BS theory is the greats from the 90s didn’t have more than 16 pads so it should be good enough for you… WHAT?

Tell him it’s 2024, and I bet the same producers would cream having more possibilities that we have nowadays.

Another thing maybe it’s me but have 16 pass I do get stuck in a certain template or pattern. Having more pads just gives more opportunities and expression. I mean mpc 3 is it, the old way of doing mpc stuff is relegated to the past now for better or worst.

Can you record audio straight into the arranger multitrack style? Mpc 3 has this kinda thing now….

Yes.

This is a great review!
If it helps, I couldn’t see the imperfection in the skin when you laid it flat.

FTR not my vid just thought it was interesting

Really hoping the prediction bout the update pans out
:crossed_fingers:

EDIT: on a second look the skin does indeed look a bit wonky and the breaks are visible, not sure what i was thinking hehe

I think they needed more time to go add all the requests from the Force wish list I put together from mines & other users wishes: AKAI Force - #2749 by Poetic-Noise

Seriously, I hope he right about another update. As deep as the Force is, there’s still room for improvement. Bug fixes & QOL updates would nice!

I think it would be if they dropped the Force & l make a MPC64 with an updated hardware design & OS. Just being an MPC it would get move attention, while still being a new Force.
