Highly unlikely. It wouldn’t make much sense without hardware refresh, and they just released the MPC Key 61, so you can be sure they’re going to keep using this platform for years to come. Probably until 2025-2026 at least.
I think we can expect more MPC Key versions (it has 61 in its name for a reason) and more plug-ins though.
By the way, I got Fabric XL and the pianos (well, the whole package) and I’m loving it so far. Totally worth $200. I’m just a bit salty that I missed the $100 deal.
Hey guys! I was checking the Akai’s Force website and noticed that the URL says Force-Forcexus, could this mean the there is indeed a new Force coming?
Probably, can’t wait to get a second used Force MKI for cheap when the Force X gets released. Contrary to the MPC OS, The Force OS state is perfect when it comes to functions. I don’t need anything more. The MPC OS on the other hand still lacks disk streaming and master/bus track automation.
Yep… if you Google ‘forcexus’ it brings up a lot of MI sites’ hits for the Force… it looks like it’s a SKU or dealer product code for the regular Force.
Unfortunately.
All I really need on the Force, is for Akai to sort out the glitching on loops when the tempo is changed.
Especially obvious on Kick loops. Mangles the first transient. I’m so used to being able to adjust the tempo when DJing, based on what’s happening on the dance-floor…
I input a wind controller to the Force via USB, but it will only play a track when it’s set to GLOBAL in the Preferences > MIDI/Sync. If I set it to TRACK, then go to the mixer, then no matter what I set for the track’s MIDI IN (All Ports or my controller), I get no MIDI in to the track.
Also, after setting the controller to GLOBAL, then the Force’s pads stop playing that track’s notes as soon as I play the first note from my controller. The only way I’ve found to re-activate the pads is to reload the project.
Can I get some troubleshooting advice for either problem?
Global is for using a Master Keyboard or something that you want to input to any track by selecting that track from the buttons at the bottom.
Track is the way for having Force behave like multiple boxes you can select/ configure/ play as desired.
More advice:
Mixer I/O is tied to Input status Off/MERGE/Auto: One of those will (ahem) Merge any clip data with incoming note data.
What you hear in this situation is also affected by another preference that tells the machine that you want to Rec Arm a track for it to receive and play live input.
Configure your recording options properly and you’ll get through this.
Anyone think we’ll ever see a desktop software version of Force?
As in the same way there is MPC software?
Or do we think that it is essentially just Ableton?
It’d be great to use the Force in controller mode and access all your AU/VST plugins, and be able to do certain editing jobs on a computer.
