whats the best quality “free” upscaler out there?
i say quality but i’m after interesting results so anything goes.
the hugging face one functions well for enlarging, but i’m after something similar to my experiences with midjourney ages ago, where it adds elements and actually enhances details.

I wonder what the A.I, when turned into A.G.I will think about all our crazy prompts?
Will it rule us out as humans, the forward thinking individuals that wants the earth to flourish?
Will it gain knowledge and express love and lead us onto the right path…
I don’t think that you can consider yourself an artist if you’re just giving a computer program prompts. I would even have a hard time considering it collaboration, unless you are deeply editing the output. I would however consider the person/people writing the code artists.

Interesting take! I work with programmers and I don’t think any of them consider themselves artists… they design - because they produce creative output with a purpose, but art is about expression often without purpose. It might have intent but as soon as it’s solving a problem you’ve moved into a different arena.
Out of interest do you consider writers artists? Poets? People that produce screen plays or direct movies? If so then I’d ponder the idea that someone writing a creative prompt can exist in a very similar space. Art doesn’t have to be complicated or exhaustive, just expressive.

and in the case of llms the design decisions of the tags and pathways that interlink the models decision making process. hence i agree with @Raskal.X , we have the illusion that our prompts are creating magic (in some ways, dependent on the abstraction of the words we choose, it certainly can appear that way) but ultimately they fall back on decisions made at the design stage.
i like that fact this convo spans nigh on 2 years so far. long may it continue.
