After reinstalling rme fireface drivers can't select it

Just a simple question, please don‘t get me wrong but sometimes we forget the most obvious things: Did you reboot after reinstalling the drivers? Had this issue when I installed the RME software package for the very first time, the Total Mix App didn’t work, also the WDM drivers weren‘t accessible for Windows. Never had any issues again.

totally reasonable question. I have completely uninstalled the drivers with revo and rreebooted about 1o times thoough. ta

Okay, so there should be at least one WDM Output pair set up for the RME interface. Try to set WDM devices as >= 1. You can open the dialogue for your interface settings by clicking on the RME Fire/Flames icon in the task bar… you know, that ‘burning’ little icon that opens the Fireface USB Settings. There’s an entry called ‘WDM Devices’. Set this to ‘1’ as a start. Reboot your system and check your Windows Settings again. You should be able to find your RME Fireface again.

Just a guess :slightly_smiling_face:

Get rid of all the VB audio stuff. Get rid of all RME stuff. Reboot. Check if all were cleanly uninstalled first. RME stuff only this time, then if everything is OK the VB audio next.
