Advanced Seq mode problem

Apologies if this is somewhere in the manual but I can’t see it anywhere under the advanced mode section. I have recently noticed a problem with advanced mode, if for instance I set the sequencer to 48/48 on a track under advanced yet have the master at 64, the track will repeat the first page in the sequence then move on to the 2nd and 3rd, therefore playing that sequence for 64 steps rather than 48 which I’m trying to do. The funny thing is that when you play the pattern for the first time it’s fine, it plays the 1st then 2nd and 3rd page, it seems its from the point the pattern loops again that the first page is repeated.

Anyone any ideas? Is this a bug?

Hi I was looking over here regarding the same problem/bug. If I want i.e. whatever track at a say 12/16th pattern length (with global pattern set to 16/16th), it plays to 12 than goes back and plays 4, and goes on with this 12+4 instead of 12. Hope it’s me missing something.

that’s by design. In advanced mode, if master length is reached, all tracks will restart from step 1. If you do not want this, you have to set master length to INF (easiest if you turn counter-clockwise past 2)

If master length is INF, you cannot switch patterns though. This is what the CHNG parameter is for, set this to the desired amount of step at which the pattern will switch to the next.

Ah, that makes sense, thanks for your help!

Ah, I totally thought the CHNG parameter dictated when to change after how many play throughs of the master occurred. So, it’s steps and not play throughs, correct?

thanks!
