Adding labels to OT mk1

I ordered them, printed and ready, from this guy

He’s done 3 batches for me as well as 2 overlays for my patchbay and I’ve been super happy. Probably need to email for colour options.

How do the magnets affect the OT’s sound quality?

Lol. Try elevating it with hockey pucks.

With the magnets, just as with leaving the OT in the freezer overnight, I found it REALLY opens up the sound

…ordinary but pro stage tape keeps the world together…

rocksolid sticky…no afterglue leftovers anyways…

looks way better then masking/painter tape…truu musician like…rox.

I’d advise not using electrical tape - I’ve never used it on kit but sometimes to mark up cables and it leaves horrible residue if you change it.

Another option might be to design your own overlay with the labels you want at Styleflip. They have base templates for mk1 and mk2. You can add your own colours, layers & text boxes. No good if you want to change your labels though.

Thanks to @dobermate’s magnets, I checked and found that you can buy blank, dry-erase magnetic labels. Most are 2cm wide strips, but you can cut them.

Washi-Tape (japanese gift wrapping tape) is nice. Not super sticky, leaves no residue and easy to write on. Also: Comes in all sorts of funky colors and patterns.

You can get a cheap laminator for under $25 USD and then you have unlimited cheap, decent quality, custom cheat sheets. The laminator I use (the same model i linked) was actually a trash find, but when it breaks I’d definitely drop the price of a pizza delivery on a replacement. Laminating cheat sheets makes them easier to find (and not accidentally throw away), easier to handle while you’re working, and you can write notes on them in sharpie and then erase them with alcohol if you need to change them.
