Hello! I’m stuck with a work Flow issue. I have made 4 tracks on bank A but I wish to make a few different tracks with different programs I can exchange from the ones im using. I went to bank B but if I edit a patch it still changes from bank to bank. im using a drum kit on my first bank but on B I would like to use only synths. is this possible?
You sound very confused, possibly because the Monomachine stores patches in sets of six called “Kits”.
Each pattern you have made so far calls up a Kit. The Kit contains the six sounds (machines + settings) that are used in the pattern.
If you want a new pattern to use a different set of sounds than another pattern, you need to assign a different Kit to the new pattern. You can copy a machine and its settings from an existing Kit and paste them to another Kit.
You would benefit from reading at least the first 25 pages of the Monomachine’s manual.
What you’re seeing is expected behavior on most Elektron gear. Patterns reference kits or sounds, if two patterns reference the same kit, editing it in one place changes it everywhere.
Solution: go to Bank B, save the current kit as a new kit, then load that new kit into your pattern. Now you can tweak all you want without it spilling into Bank A. Same goes for sounds, depending on whether you’re using per-track sound locking
