i didnt say too much - i said it didnt sound good in your demo.
all the sounds were choked up just for sake of distortion.
maybe better use of EQ next time
what i said was , “AD sounds like its better for single track (kick) instead of whole mix. ill use AH for mix just to get a boost/saturation and filter/eq”
so easy to destroy audio, much harder to make destruction sound good

Matter of taste. I really like certain settings in my recording, simply not possible with AH.
in recording sure but the point of the thread was slapping it on the mix bus
AD is wicked for focused distortion / AH for saturation boost
2 totally different uses. just need a compressor!
I think AD can be used for that purpose but, it requires a 2nd one, a mixer with stereo sends/bus, subtle settings…
AH is ready for that, much less noisy, and the Dry/Wet setting plus filter makes it more appropriate for sure.
