Maybe I’ve missed it - but does a similar feature like on the Digitone exists:
You agree on a root and scale - and ONLY keys belonging to your scale are lit on the A4 mini-keyboard? (Root / min or maj does only affect the arpeggiator?)
Would at least help me drastically to play and record stuff in realtime.
If you want similar options it looks like you can make notes that you’ve already entered onto a sequencer track conform (nondestructively) to notes of a scale that you set from within the menu (pg 45).
You can also probably do some convoluted workaround by defining your own notes in the multimap menu and then playing them while still in edit mode (that’s apparently the only way to play a multimap non chromaticly with the mini keys) or you can store the multimap and play it from an external keyboard, but it’s going to be a lot of work to do it this way.
At that point you might as well just get a midi keyboard that lets you play in scale like keystep pro or similar.
Something about multimapping is mentioned in this topic, I think you’ll have to search around a bit if you want more information about that method though.
Someone else will have to confirm, I’m just reading the manual and here on elektronauts via the search. I don’t own an A4.
