Only just found out about this but this is one the best good news stories I’ve heard of in the synth world in years. Just great to see they engaged the original designer, and everyone on the team that brought this back really thought about it and worked hard to bring this in to the modern day.
Look forward to trying this out over the holiday season
Please note, presets saved in Absynth 6.1 will not open in Absynth 6.0.

I picked it up on sale/with a voucher for like $75. For me it is essential for preset farming. It just sounds so good for pads and atmospheric sounds. Have never used any iteration of absynth for sound design but for running presets through 3rd party effects or sampling it is a no brainer imo.
NI’s summer sale is going on, but frustratingly neither of the two instruments I’d actually consider picking up (Absynth 6, Massive X) appear to be on sale.
@pmags It looks like they might have changed it now but the old Komplete Select Electronic and Beats bundles had the full version of Massive X included (now just the cut-down player version). There are a lot of people that got this old bundle for free on promotions or bundled with hardware (like me) and then sell it at KVR or Knobcloud for very cheap, like €10 or €20.
If you shop around carefully and clarify with the sellers, you can probably get Massive X this way very cheap. Sometimes people even give these serials away when they don’t want them.
After a quick preset browsing session I am in awe. The sounds this thing makes…wow! And strangely the UI seems more welcoming for actually editing sounds than Korg’s Modwave plugin.
Seems like a lot of the parameters I’d like to automate aren’t visible to Live’s automation, things like the effects parameters for example. Maybe that can be solved somehow…
