Ableton Sync with Syntakt

I have a hybrid environment and see difficulties having Ableton and Syntakt in sync. This is going be obvious playing Kick&Bass in psytrance arrangements.
Ableton is the master clock. Are there any hints or experiences for delay compensation?

Have you tried setting both devices to the same BPM and syncing manually?

no i did not.

You can try this: go to Ableton’s MIDI settings, in the MIDI Out section there’s your Syntakt, click on the triangle on the left and a drop-down menu will open, choose “sequencer” and set the delay. A value between -50 and -60 ms works for me.

Have you tried Overbridge ? And maybe post a bit about your setup like OS, laptop model and audio/midi interface etc

ja ja noch was?

exactly what i tought which i have to looking for. Thank you very much i will give it a try. The minus values apply for being ableton as the master? Have a great time.

Yes, with Ableton as master

i succeeded now with +50 ableton as the master clock

now i returned to the minus values. with psy kick&bass you easily get mad…But I’m happy you gave me the right tool to adjust it to taste. Thank you a lot.

Do you have a lot of MIDI traffic apart from the sync? eg. A lot of controller change messages?

MIDI traffic can cause delays, you might need to consider the layout of your devices, maybe get a MIDI interface with multiple outputs of you have a lot of devices.

It might vary with how busy the MIDI bus is at any moment.

Thanks for input of those considerations. I will have to take care about it. You are right. Thanks.
