Y’all need to check this free app out for organising and previewing projects.
The bounce preview alone makes it amazing. I never open Ableton anymore, I open specific projects directly from MAKID. So many half finished projects are getting finished. That idea I made months ago I can quickly find with the bounce preview. It’s completely changed my workflow for the better
I’ve been trying this and I like it. But I need to bounce out all those projects, which will be a huge job.
Yeah for sure it took meTWO DAYS STRAIGHT! But I found 10 abandoned tracks that are now demos and some of them are in the process of getting signed so I only see the upside.
track preview is really fabulous. also the progress stage and rankings and global search are nice. this is so helpful, i’m gonna finish some songs.
Does anyone know how the preview works?
For me it picked up previews for two projects, but one was a single drum track and the other was a reference track for a mix.
Never mind:
Missed the Docs - makes sense.
i was reading the documentation a few days ago and it seemed like it referred to an automatic bounce feature. i don’t think that exist ls but it’s easy enough to do on your own. and so worth it!!! kinda life changing lol. honestly i’ve had a real high from bouncing out bits of songs from the last few years and being able to hear a bunch of tracks quickly.
It wasn’t that, but an auto bounce would be nice… The built in help is kind of confusing, but the picture in the FAQ made sense.
It’s just adding the bounced output to the same project folder.
I do already have a folder for excerpts from projects that I’m about 50% good at adding bounces to.
Since downloading the app, I’ve dropped those bounced tracks to the project folder. It’s a little tedious but I do like all the data available and ability to add notes.
I think once I get tags setup, it’ll help even more. There’s so many modular recordings in my setup now and now sifting through them won’t be a challenge.
just to be clear you can put them wherever you want. i made one folder that all the bounces go in.
I just put my bounces in the project folders, that way I know which bounces belong to which project, and I can bounce multiple times and not get a big pile of WAVs like I had before in one export folder.
MAKID picks them up automatically, but it does not refresh so often so you might need to right click the project and hit “Resync” to get the preview to work.
This tool is amazing. I used to have a huge notion page to keep track of my projects. Not anymore! This is so much better and elegant. Wish it would support other daws as well so it could be the main project managing/librarian/tracking centre piece
It had been on my list to install, but after switching computers, it took longer than expected to get here.
Yesterday, loading it up was a big eye-opener.
I even found a project from earlier this year I had started to wrap up, but unintentionally abandoned. It needs work, but this is like finding money in an old coat pocket.
Haha yes exactly same thing happened to me
