Ableton Move : User Thread

anyone found a good case?

Using an Analog case, anything made for the Behringer TD-3 fits it perfectly. The Decksaver fits in there as well.

Decksaver does it for me.

What’s your experience with MIDI sync on the Move ?

For me, sync out is fine.
Bet when Move is set to MIDI sync in, it’s about +10ms “late” (tried some different USB-MIDI interfaces and clock sources)

There are lots of options made for 75% keyboards that will fit it perfectly. The one I got has a wide strap inside that covers the encoders.

This is pure speculation: Drum Sampler is still very new, and I imagine they’re working on a proper slicing feature to launch with Live 13 (or even better, Live 12.x). But enough people were clamouring for slicing on Move that they wrote a quick script to tide us over.

Time will tell, but offering layouts for 16 pitches / 16 velocities / 16 slices would be SO OBVIOUS.

This Geekria keyboard case is perfect.

Am I the only one who find the slicing method useful since we got the end point waveform

As others have mentioned, geekria 75% keyboard cases are a perfect fit. I got this one which has the wide Velcro strap to cover the encoders, and the zip compartment is big enough to store the psu, usb, and a couple of audio cables. OP-Z in wrap bag can also be attached to the outside mesh pocket

I’m a sucker for UDG so went for theirs. It hasn’t arrived yet, though, so I can’t offer any kind of a review.

Yeah, seems like the Move tends to lag slightly when it’s receiving MIDI Clock compared to when it’s sending it.

Have the UDG one, it’s good and the usual with that but maybe could get away with being a little smaller.

Agree 100%, current slicing will do but it feels hacky in the context of this box, 16 slices mode has such an obvious way of slotting in that it’ll feel like a missing feature to me unless/until it arrives. But probably would have also to be implemented in Live / Push at the same time so not holding my breath.

Geekria case is excellent for me, but as I keep it in my bag on my commute, the SLIM case is the way to go… no need for extra space… I don’t need to keep a USB-C charger brick in the move case, just some earbuds (in case I don’t have my proper cans) and a 3.5mm TRS patch cord plus lightning adapter so I can sample audio from my phone. Slim geekria case has enough room for that (along with Decksaver on for extra protection) and even a short USB-C cable in case I want to use it as a controller for Live. Unless you need to keep a power brick in there, I really have no clue what anyone would need the extra space version for.

Also realized how nice it is to have the case on my lap and then the Move sitting on the case instead of putting the Move on my lap directly… hot tip to anyone getting a few minutes in with Move on seated transportation

Can anyone let me know if its possible to control more than 8 macros in a rack in Control mode? I can only access the first 8 out of 16…

Are there many known HW failures with the Move? I have the chance to buy one without a receipt, but I’m not sure if it’s worth it.

It’s coming soon:

Thanks, glad this is being implemented, that was the first shortcut I tried and was perplexed it wasn’t a feature, seems so obvious!

The only thing so have heard is that sometimes a corner pad becomes unresponsive. Iirc massaging them can help.

Otherwise it’s solid, and looks quite repairable.
