Comparing tracks to strings is a bit strange to be honest.
I am starting to think there must be people invested in Ableton in some way, who seem to have the device already on launch date, or very shortly after. Otherwise I can’t understand the enthusiasm - nice device maybe, but that spectacular? Come on.
Yes. I like not having to be connected via cable to move sets, but it would be nice to have the option of moving sets over USB.
It’s funny how many people are just coming around to capture now when it’s been in live for 6 years. Just goes to show how important the difference between hardware and software can be sometimes.

I’m not invested in Ableton, I just ordered the night it was available and it showed up this weekend.
There is enthusiasm, because it’s a really nice device for many of us. Not for you? No problem.
I have Polyend Tracker and Move. They’re so different. Move feels like something to play, Tracker is something to programme. Both great tools in their own way. I could see someone wanting both, or one specifically depending on their needs.
Cheers for the reply. Gonna grab one as soon as I’m back in the UK. I have a push 2 that I honestly never really gelled with. Can see this getting much more use.
I got mine three days ago and am trying to give it a week. So far it’s not looking good.
PROS:
Solid build
UI pretty good
Ridiculously fast sampling
Chromatic synth tracks are amazing
Interesting presets, esp. the samples
I rather like the sense of limitations, also that they give you a random set to start with.
Getting the parameter name just by touching the knob pretty cool. You can swipe the top row of knobs and get a quick read right away.
So much diversity in sound possibilities. This is also a negative.
CONS:
Actually takes 10 seconds to boot up: how’s this make it a casual “on the go” box?
Jog wheel for navigation a bit annoying, especially with effects.
No panning for instrument tracks?
Awful integration with Ableton Live, really primitive.
No MIDI tracks can send to Ableton in Move mode. Lame.
The offensive Midi USB out port. Really guys?
Ableton-style arranging rather dull when I have things like Novation Circuit and Elektron to compare it to.
Simultaneously gives you too many sound options and not enough sequencer things to do with them.
In short I think this device can’t decide if it’s for beginners or DAWless nerds like me. For beginners, ok fine, but 450€? Beginners should get a Launchkey and be happy.
For DAWless nerds, it really needs to integrate with other devices better.
Sorry for the negativity, but that’s my experience so far.
Yeah, this is exactly what I’d love to see. Given that you can already record automation on it, it’s simply a matter of either supporting a chain of scenes, or to let automation recording carry on as you manually jump to another scene.
Right, I suppose you could do a jam using it as a midi controller for Ableton Live. I’d be similar to how I record a Syntakt jam with Overbridge hooked up to the laptop on the side.
Maybe it loses some of its authenticity if the Move was used only for the 0-50% part and then the jam is done on a 99% finished song made in Ableton Live. Or maybe I’m overthinking things. 
Yeah it does seem so indeed. I have no complaints about the specs at all, just would like to capture the essence of a real live jam on the song sketch and have that carry over to Live, as opposed to just a collection of clips to be stitched together to a song in Live. Seems like it would be a fairly small development to make it work, but what do I know. 
It’s also perfectly ok if it stays as “just” a sketchpad and that I don’t really need that in my life. It just seems like this thing is so close to being the perfect little jammable groovebox with its encoders and pads, so it would be nice if that could be captured in the moment somehow.
That’s it, really. It’s not doing what I’d love for it to do here, and if I need to quickly move to the computer to work on the song structure, I would rather just do that on the MPC where I can both sketch and arrange. Twice as big and bukly, yes, but around the house that doesn’t matter much.
Ouch, that’s good to know! Hmm, that’s a bummer actually, my wife is pretty unhappy when I sit with the Syntakt next to her. She doesn’t complain about the MPC Live 2.
Just make sure you’re clicking in a cool rhythm at all times. Problem solved.
Really digging the Move. Came up with a couple of interesting ways to use it with my computer via Link. I’m writing drums and bass and other things on the Move.
I use the arrange view in Ableton to chop up and rearrange loops, vocals etc. Sync’d to Move.
I monitor through the Move.
When I have a cool loop, I bounce it down then drag and drop it from the Finder to the Move cloud. I’ve made a “My Loops” folder.
This also works the other way. I download the project from the Move cloud and open the project in the Ableton Live browser. I can drag and drop the individual tracks into the project I’m working on in the computer.
I can keep adding parts just by making new clips on the Move.
Best of both worlds!!!

Good luck. Did you buy direct? If not they might have you work through the vendor and do an exchange.
To be fair, not a single thing about it is trying to appeal to the DAWless crowd.
I think it’s trying to appeal to Ableton users. It’s a tool to focus, cut through the noise and generate ideas fast. It really really succeeds at that.
Yeah this is an inherent problem with sending audio into the computer that is also powering your device. I have the same problem. USB power sucks. Luckily the battery power makes it a non issue and I’ll be sending in stems rather than audio, ultimately.
Once you move a project up to ableton, which is frankly what you’re supposed to do, you can jam the same clips in exactly the same way with exactly the same macros on the same encoders etc.
Only difference is this time you can press record 
so a ‘song mode’ isn’t really essential in that regard.
From Ableton direct. I´m the only one hopefully with this problem.
Sorry to hear about your issues. Yours is the only report I’ve seen mentioning that issue, either here or on the Ableton Discord. Hopefully Ableton will get you sorted quickly.
