If the image is true, then my gut says:
8 tracks (at least, because you have arrow buttons, although those can just switch bars)
The Step sequencer like buttons are indeed steps, because the 4:4 kicks are marked. This way you can hold one of these steps and program notes using the pads.
These buttons will also function as rec arm, mute and solo, track select.
The buttons on the left of the pads are scenes.
I’m willing to bet money on it… if the image is true… if I was a betting person :))
Exactly; it’s too convenient. That said, I think I’m actually believing the survey screenshot now…
The mockup in the survey includes LEDs between the encoders and pads, which aren’t readily visible in the hardware photo. A faker would have had to really examine the photo closely to see those and add them to the mockup.
Managing 4 scenes at a time could actually be nice for arranging, assuming you can have more scenes using the arrow. I.e. each 4 scenes represent a section of an arrangement. Find working with 8 scenes at a time actually visually a bit too much.
Of course very doubtful this will have any form of arranger.
Wish it also have a step sequencer that’s capable of bi directional play , randomisation and generative stuff. But again wishful thinking.
The image is low resolution in general, but when I zoom in, there are parts where the pixels look less integrated than others. With a poor quality image and heavy compression, it’s hard to really say.
I know, it’s all very “my uncle works at Nintendo.”
In principle, it should be very easy for someone to fake the survey, but the plausible case would be that it was sent, under NDA, only to a small group of perhaps Ableton certified instructors, and we’re only seeing this now because a few of those people saw the photo leak and figured hey, it’s out there now and it’s only a few more days anyway; why not.
Now that I’m seeing it next to push 3 it does have the same rectangle with a line through it that the track buttons have on push…
If it’s really only 4 tracks that’ll be very interesting…
Obviously you can get a lot done with 4 tracks especially considering one would be (I’d assume) a drum rack. In full ableton drum racks can actually have 64 samples but even at 16 samples that gives quite a bit of sounds. Then you have a bass, lead, and chords/ pads and you probably have more than enough to get going.
But four tracks still just sounds pretty limiting.
yeah, it’s pricey, and not tailored for Live, but that’s what I wished for the Move to be as there’s already so much small portable battery powered devices with paeds, for once I thought they might invest into a hq console type controller that will be better for sound design, control, hands on mixer, etc…
“Push for Push pads, Move for Move faders”… right…
This leak is definitely a fake. Why would industrial designers cater to lefties by putting the jog wheel on the left side when they already have the Push 3 on the right
That’s not catering to lefties, workflow wise this is actually preferable as you can scroll through presets while drumming or playing with your right hand.
