You got it wrong.

Is clearly a hardware device designed to be compatible with current Ableton products.

It will provide support to current products and expand on their MOBILITY (MOVE) capabilities.

Basically this:

So what is that something? Unless it’s ā€œbeing smallerā€, I don’t see how a theoretically smaller Move would do much of a difference.

So here’s how next Tuesday will go:
Yay, they just dropped Move

I don’t know how you hacked into my todo list but I really don’t appreciate it.

Yeah if I can quickly sample my elektron boxes into a stable mini DAW of sorts with Abletons design language (& maybe some fx and a few bells and whistles) to quickly sketch a track out and then transfer to PC it’ll be an instant buy. Maybe a light sequencer & some chord programming options too. I know the Push can do all this but the price tag, size, battery, and design has kept me away for my use cases.

Also if someone from Ableton is reading this please don’t cover this one in TPE. Please! BAN TPE from all electronics!!!

Yeah, to echo what everyone else said, I’ve never hit a wall on the Push 3 like I was able to easily hit on a Maschine+ or MPC. It is a beast.

Only a bit unwieldy considering it has a battery a stuff. But as a standalone groove box it’s powerful.

Awesome. You can do a lot with Live Lite’s 8 audio + 8 MIDI and the built in plugs.

This bundle comes with an epic cinematic sound pack. They’re calling it the Hans Zimmer Frame.

…

I’ll get my coat.

The thought that the platform/form factor is provided by intel for longer, and they don’t have to develop a board. Also: it probably took quite a while to develop it (their own Linux with Ableton, and getting it to run stable), that by the time the pandemic slowed down and production could move forward the idea simply became obsolete. Porting so timing critical software to a a different architecture is even harder then the already not easy task to port it to Linux. Doing both…yeah, afterwards it would have been a good decision. Maybe move will be that, a new arm based platform since they had more time?
