Id have bought it with this feature

that would have made it harder to resist for sure

Can someone confirm this: seems like move has one ā€žprojectā€œ in memory consists of 32 sets each consists of 4 tracks and 8 scenes, right? But is it possible to save and load those ā€žprojectsā€œ into memory? Or you always have only one ā€žmain projectā€œ and to make more sets you have to transfer all to computer and erase memory?

Clock in will be added later as posted above.

So was overbridge for digi2.
I dont believe devs promises until they manifest. They are under no obligation to provide them.

Ah my bad. Seems I remembered wrong regarding the resonance. Does the LFO have a one shot mode or a half cycle mode like the elektron boxes do? Then it can certainly pass of as an envelope

At the moment, you can store sets to a PC, but there’s no way to restore them.

Can you sample while the beat is playing? Like… record guitar and such?
I guess so, since you can also resample the beat, but I haven’t seen it demoed.

If I could thumbs down this video, I would. I have a strong dislike of these reaction videos anyway (I search for ā€œAbleton Moveā€ on Youtube and I get tens or even hundreds of these reaction vids of people who don’t even have the device in front of them and nothing actually helpful about using the device). This guy basically just said that the Move (a standalone groovebox) is the same as existing Novation Ableton controllers. Is he not paying attention?!

Further logic also doesn’t even make sense. Yes, we all have microphones on our phones, but you then have to take those recordings and transfer them onto your sampler of choice, which probably involves moving files from phone to computer and then computer to sampler/groovebox. That’s not the same as recording straight to device and then making music.

As for the insinuation that we’re just hipsters, I’m not taking that from the guy who records reaction videos to get a bit of attention. He may have a studio full of equipment and vinyl to which he can retire when he gets some inspiration, but not all of us do.

I don’t know why this has annoyed me so much. I think it’s hit upon all the things I dislike about youtuber-ism in one video.

Before anyone flags me - I work for a company that licences commercial music for youtube content producers so I’m kind of indirectly involved in the whole thing but that doesn’t mean I like the culture around it.

Its the same when in YT videos they say;

Limitation breeds creativity.

It should be; limitation breeds focus.

Lets say, a kid with 10 lego blocks vs. a kid with 100 lego blocks ( as in functionality ).

Who would be more creative and distinct?

Just a marketing slogan of something 20 years ago.

The MrBeastification of youtube and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race…

Seriously though I share a lot of your frustrations with YT. Being intimately involved must be like water drip torture.

Seems you were the only one so far for whom it really mattered tbh, most focus on the device.

I tried keeping up with the comments but things have gone way too fast since the official release lol. After thinking it over the last few days I just put in my order for the Ableton Move. I went all in with Ableton a year ago and Live + Push 3 has been my main instrument. After years of dawless, groovebox experimentation, Ableton’s high quality and wealth of options really impressed me.

However, because it can do so much, sometimes I sit down and end up organizing files, creating presets or fine tuning things instead of ā€œjammingā€ or doing much musical output. I have a 404 and keyboard that I just jam on sometimes but it’s pretty separate from my Ableton experience. I’m excited to use the Move and get away from the computer sometimes but still stay within the Ableton ecosystem. There are just so many cool things Ableton is capable of. I’m also looking forward to having a smaller midi device to control Live with when the Push is too bulky to bring with me. :metal:

Yes, it’s possible.

it’s gotten so bad, hasn’t it? i wish there was a way to automatically exclude reaction videos from search results. with this product launch in particular it’s extremely bad.

not to get too off topic here but I feel it’s more platform issue then content creators, I mean sure some people like watching vlogs or whatever because content provides them some entertainment, and the platform knows it and promotes it, I wish youtube had some sort of filtering system like tags or whatever so you could exclude things from the search, that way for example you could search for ā€œableton move performanceā€ or ā€œdemoā€ or ā€œhands onā€ etc., but the platform doesn’t provide this feature although every video upload comes with the option to fill in tags.
same goes for every other piece of gear, when I search for rytm stuff I get 500 results of tutorials overviews but barely any music
