That’s good to know. To clarify, I’m not sour on that, just always looking for parity in a system. Thanks for the experiential input. How are you feeling about the side x side use?
Sounds like I can send it into the Cirklon2’s USB hub and control any synth I want, if I choose.
Yep I just confirmed by exporting from Note to Live, it’s a combined rack of Channel EQ and Compressor
My favorite feature in Propellerhead’s Figure.
Theoretical max is 4 tracks of Drum Racks, so that’d be 4 x 16 = 64 voices.
Synth tracks I believe have max 8 voices of polyphony, but you can’t put synths in Drum Rack pads in Move (unlike in Live/Push).
How about the melodic sampler? Is that 8 voice poly as well?
Do it!
How much does the decksaver cost? I might just buy one of those and call it a day.
same! would be a killer feature, but i kind of doubt they’ll do it
I’m not sure the answer if you can sample direct to a pad, but there’s a max4live device out there, I think it was called beat lab instant sampler or something, that already does this. It’s like a cut down simpler that lets you resample any source in Live.
Yeah I get that. But the main interest is kinda “start in Move, finish in Live”. Since they give Intro in the box, one can assume that a full Move set can translate completely in Intro for finessing, right…
It counts as a “synth”, so can’t be put inside of Drum Rack either. Also, I’m not sure what it actually is? Probably a cut down version of Simpler/Sampler, likely with 8 voices, too?
That’s how I transport my Push. Decksaver+rubber band to keep it in place. I also have a fancy hard case I could use but it’s so big and bulky, and it’s not like I’m a DJ flying to gigs. I’m just riding my bike to my friend’s house.
Oh god you just popped a death flag, take it back! You’ll probably regret this post for the rest of your life.
Murphy’s law in full effect, this is how it starts!
What the what?
“the full gambit of Move’entirenic contouring, depth and dimension”
Yeah and personally, I rarely use more than 10-11 drum hits in a track. So I can load the extra slots with stabs. Or have 1 track with a rack loaded with chords already. Either way, this should be plenty to keep me able to get ideas down, which is really the goal here.
Producing music in this day and age (for release) is really all about writing as many ideas as possible, and then once the ears are fresh, listening back and picking the best ideas to finish. I have not found a better way, at least for me. But even 15 years ago I worked with guys who made 5-10 beats everyday on their MPC and picked the best ones. Tried and true workflow which I believe is what Move is really tailored for.
Was reading that Sophie has like 1,000 songs on her hard drive still sitting there. And she just used Ableton and a monomachine. Pretty wild.
That’s not bad at all, especially at that price. You could get two of these and a mixer and run a nice little hour set.
May have missed it in between the overwhelming info about the device but can it midi sync with elektron boxes?
You’ll have to sync via usb. @NKS
