Ableton Move [Archived]

Purchased. I’ve been having a ton of fun with Note lately so this feels like a logical progression.

the 16 backlit multifunctional buttons, can be assigned to multitudes of dynamics tools, effects, or parameters, letting you engage and record real-time tweaking and automation with ease

This part sounds interesting too

I think it looks great as an instrument. Really like the interface. I am curious to see what the limitations look like in practice.

Like how does racks work in this context etc. (Don‘t know how it’s done in note). Would be great to be able to put a few racks within racks.
I imagine that the current functionality can at least be somewhat expanded in the future as well

Way to go Sweetwater for quietly dropping this early and sweeping up all these sales

Thoroughly nonplussed by the 4 track limit but in fairness I could still find a use for it.

I wonder what the price is in £

POV: me rn (right now)

Yeah. I have a feeling our brains will be broken once we see the video overviews.

“Oh wow, they did that? Cooooool!”

If this can do the things i want to do on my OP-1Field, i will be happy.

Sounds like regression features-wise, but let’s see the videos.

Ableton note only supports iOS. Unbelievable.
So will the Move not support android as well?
If that’s the case forget it.

Move is standalone

I don’t think it has anything to do with Note other than feature similarities, thus not tied to iOS or Android

Since it’s Stand Alone and offers Ableton Link you can at least sync it to any Music apps on Android that you use with Link—i only use iOS so I’m not familiar with Android as a music creation platform though.

Ah I see those dots under the encoders turned out to be a real thing!

I think this will be visual feedback for the encoder levels of different parameters ala OP-Z.

Seems to not be the only thing borrowed from the op-z, which isn’t a bad thing imo

Congrats to the Day One customers. Let’s see how many survive the dreaded Return to Sender outcomes of so much gear these days.

I have a good feeling that this Move will satisfy quite a few needs i have that I’ve tried to fill with other gear.

Let’s see though. :crossed_fingers:

Come on demo videos. Show up already :joy:

This was definitely smoother than when i ordered the EP-133 and Syntakt. Sneaky Sweetwater thank you.

lol fair enough. It’s giving ‘Note lite in a standalone box’ vibes more than anything. For someone who doesn’t love touch screen instruments but has been loving having access to the numerous available sonic pallets offered by Note, the notion of ‘Note lite in a standalone box’ was too much to pass on.
