Ableton Analog Rytm MK2 and Moog Mother 32

Hello,
I hope someone can help me.
I explain : I use Ableton Live 11, Analog Rytm Mk2 and Moog Mother 32. I connect everything with Midi like that : Focusrite midi Out to AR midi In and AR midi A thru to Moog. I want to send midi pattern from Ableton to Moog. But when I put midi transport in analog rhythm midi config, the Moog read the internal sequence.
Is it possible to solve this problem? My computer is a Mac OS X Big Sur and the overbridge doesn’t work.

Thanks

There is an update for your Moog M32 and a setting to avoid that, Google for the update and instructions. Good luck!

thanks… I will try to update and tell you how it work.

Thanks a lot, now that’s work. Only on thing I don’t understand, it work only when midi go from Midi Thru B on Ar to Mother 32. Strange?

Don’t have a Rytm so can’t help with that.

No, not strange.

From the manual, page 12:

  1. MIDI THRU/SYNC B. Forwards data from MIDI IN. Can also be configured to send DIN sync to legacy instruments. Use a standard MIDI cable to connect another MIDI device in the chain.
  2. MIDI OUT/SYNC A. MIDI data output. Can also be configured to send DIN sync to legacy instruments. Use a standard MIDI cable to connect to MIDI In of an external MIDI device.

There’s is one MIDI OUT and one MIDI THRU.

The MIDI OUT/Sync A port has two roles:

  1. to send MIDI generated by the AR out to other devices
  2. to send DIN sync to early instruments which understand DIN sync (e.g. original TR-808, JX-3P etc)

The MIDI THRU/Sync B port has two roles:

  1. to pass MIDI received by the AR onwards, untouched, to other devices
  2. to send DIN sync to early instruments which understand DIN sync (e.g. original TR-808, JX-3P etc)

If you want Ableton to control the M32 clock, you can only use MIDI THRU/Sync B in what I called “role 1”, MIDI mode.
