A4MK2 vs MS20

Live set with my little brother at his apartment.

Discovered that the MS20 was my most underrated synth. The sound is amazing specially with A4MK2. The two filters (LP and HP) makes this synth a unique mono. Especially when you spit enough LFO at the cv inputs.

Some good material there. Split it up in 5 minute segments and see what songs you can make out of it. 44minutes /5minutes =9 songs roughly. I’m sure you can pick your faves out of those 9. Beginning jam had some great build up.

Excellent! Was it a jam session or a lot of prepared stuff?

It was free jam sessie. Ingredients:

  1. Some glitch samples in digitakt
  2. MS20 with loads of free running LFO’s
  3. Two brothers on the A4
  4. TR08 for clean percussion
  5. Mixed in the octatrack which was basically only used as fx and sampling A4/MS20

First hours we filled some patterns and went off. Brother used some of his own FM patches

Yes definitely, try to make a (or several) song from your jam. You can edit the audio recording in the arrangement view in Ableton Live. It’s fun to do. It’s sometimes not easy to chose what to remove though!

I have just done the same a couple days ago with my MS-20M sequenced by my A4. The MS-20 LPF was modulated by one envelope and one LFO from the A4.

Nice!

I dont know for sure if the a4 lfo’s are free running? Anyway we had slightly different approach. Find below modded ms20 for a more hands-on approach.
