Is there a good source of info somewhere to explain simply/shortly how to set up the CV outputs on the A4 for going in the modular? I have bought the beginning of my modular with a Pittsburgh Synth Block and Make Noise Maths. At this time I’ve been able to drive the modular but I would like to learn more about the options the A4 output are giving to me. I can choose from 5V to 10V in the gate section and it seem’s that I’m getting more output from my modular at 10V but I wouldn’t like to break/hurt my kit as I don’t know much about electronics. Unfortunately, I don’t have much time to spend on reading technical books.
You can’t really “hurt” your modular gear, but don’t feed it more than 12.v.
Remember that certain modular components respond to a 0-10v range, such as envelopes (some need ~8v to be triggered), others are have an optimal range of 0-5V. Just experiment and you’ll figure it out.
Here’s my little tutorial if you need some guidance:
I’ve already crossed your tutorial on the web, but I was more looking for info about cables. All I’ve found is a 1/4 TRS to dual/split 2 RCA which put RCA to mono 1/8 adapters on it. Elektron would be kind to put a pair of 6 foot TRS to dual/split 1/8 cables in the A4 box as eurorack seems to be the standard. As long as I know there ain’t no TRS 1/4 to dual/split 1/8 quality cables on the market. We always have to use adapters at some level. I may solder my own soon cause I don’t like adapters as they can put some force against the inputs of my eurorack modules.
Anyway, I’ll read your tutorial another time as there’s some part regarding my latest questions.
Sorry for my weak english.
Just found you on soundcloud, really like your exo-suit on A4 demo.
