A4 techno (finding my groove)

Here’s a 100% Analog Four techno jam.

Starting to find my groove with making techno on the A4. I had to approach it a bit different than before and I’m happy with the result. Half considered trading it in for a 2nd Rytm, but I’m certain I could have never done this on Rytm, so it’s definitely staying now.

3 patterns + Performance mode.
2 synth tracks, a sub-bass track, and a drum track.

Good stuff! Curious how you get your kick to cut through the mix?

That was a very nice track, very easy to listen to and well mixed!

Nice one Adam! :+1:

Every track is different, but for this one I used the Peak mode in the multi-mode filter on both kick and sub-bass tracks. I use this filter mode a lot on both Rytm and A4, as it is much like an EQ.

Medium resonance on both and the kick track freq filter parameter is peaking at 22, with the sub-bass filter at 28.
Sub-bass does have an LFO on its resonance to bring out the swell of low end during the pattern.

Beautiful stuff, man. Hooray for keeping the A4.

Just wanted to say that I think it is really cool.

I felt it was kind of calling for some kind of unnerving pad in the background, but ah well thats just me, cool track!

Reminds me of some time in 1992 in a sweaty room with black walls and a strobe, me wearing a gas mask and shorts, dancing with a dwarf - all in a good way. Doesn’t need the pad.

I’ll see if I can’t squeeze a pad in there now that I have the Nord Drum 1 to take on drums and regain an A4 voice.

Or, I could take a couple performance encoders to mangle up the FX track to get the reverb to be a bit unnerving.
