A4 sending midi notes to my Octatrack?

Hello
eventhoug I looked at documentation and forums, I can’t find a clear answer to my issue;

I would like to send the midi notes recorded in my A4 to the Octatrack Midi parts. I want to record the sequences of my A4 into my Octatrack and later then my octatrack will send the midi notes to other synths.

I tried many setups on the A4 and OT… nothing!
I can play notes from the litlle keyboard of the A4 and then hear a sound on my external synth… so I guess the little keyboard send the notes… but why the A4 doesnot send notes when I do play?

don’t know if I am clear, I am lost… just wanted to record the sequences into my OT … no success.

Can you help?
Cheers!

As I understand, A4 doesn’t have midi-sequencer for controlling external devices via midi. Unfortunately. CV/Gate only.

any reason you aren’t using the OT midi tracks for the sequence?

you could send that to any synth you want (and your A4)

i think the analoug four sends midi notes but doesnt allow u to record patterns on the a4 and then send them, the mini keyboard can be used tho to send midi notes but there is no midi track to record with on the a4.

yeah, I don’t have an A4 yet (I plan on it though)…seems I would want my OT doing the MIDI though, then I could send to the A4 or any other synth I want to. Just have to save the tracks/patches I wanted for the A4 part.

The A4 cannot be used to send MIDI sequences.

Thanks a lot ofr you answers
In fact, I wanted to make from now on all my midi sequences into the OT and then pilot the A4 from the OT… but I made several nice melodies directly on the A4 and I wanted to transfer the sequence to the OT in an easy way… I am disapointed by the fact the the A4 is not sending midi notes from the sequencer… sad.

Thanks again

I am not sure what DAW you use, I personally use Live 9 for writing. If you do, you could record your sequences as audio in Live, and then use Live’s Audio to MIDI function to turn those audio sequences into MIDI.
Which you can then edit, arrange, transform, shift around, and send to all your other kit.
Good times !
