I don’t feel like doing a factory reset, I am interested in checking out the new presets, anyway to dl as sysex? Any other option other than Factory Reset.

Also is Factory Reset necessary otherwise? is it necessary for the update? Does the machine function better? Is it recommended?

Well, a factory reset does not remove anything stored on the +Drive, so if you want to check the new content out, make sure to save your stuff as a Project and then do the reset.

Any chance of getting the sounds as a sysex file, like the same as all the other sounds released by Elektron and other third parties?
