it can‘t be thaaaaat hard ![]()

Also Rytm has an open firmware… So you basically can install an alternative firmware and get other features. It would be so easier that if Elektron can’t handle these requests to make A4’s firmware open IMHO.
Open Firmware??
First I’m hearing about this… What alternative firmware can you install on Analog Rytm? I feel like this would be common knowledge if true…
Sorry for misleading! It’s not “open firmware” (as I’ve remembered it!
)
but this Announcing an unofficial SDK for Analog Rytm MKII running firmware 1.70 written in Rust
P.S. sometimes my thoughts interlaces with another great news (like Deluge’s firmware became open source) and I project them onto some others.
Oh having an open firmware would have been amazing but this would be crazy amount of work unfortunately with little chance of success.
Making something open source does not lead to miracle, sometimes it happen but that’s not a given.
And also you can expect most of the time more new bugs than the original FW. Just because open source coder has a life, they are not full time coder/tester etc. So shit happen ( not big one usually, but could be also bricking the unit ) and if the FW is free to download and there is no money in the process … yeah it’s free as free beer
Supported by community. And enjoy
But need to admit, I would be 100% for releasing the source code + tool chain + unbricking manual after production is dropped.
I mean if the product is not in the supported list of products anymore by the company that would be super cool !
If the A4 could get a small wavetable list instead of the noise… I would say yea
Yeah, I’ve suggested the request with wavetables or (maybe plus) small samples. Maybe there is some memory left for this.
mutes per pattern. c’mon already it’s on all the digi’s because it makes absolute functional sense. A4 and AR.
High resolution LFO speed (instead of integers)
what’s the vibe on the A4 getting the euclidean sequencer?
Just an idea: let’s say add to every note in a note-list you prior define on a certain step a probability. To avoiding a conflict between note-probabilities, a certain probability is locked on a note and cannot be chosen again on a different note
Don’t know if it is feasible but would bring in some sort of variety
How can it be controlled via CC then? I must admit that I miss floating numbers here (not only for LFO).
They solved this on the newer boxes
Bend settings for linear value CV machine
Since the pitch CV machine has this, there doesn’t seem to be any reason linear value tracks couldn’t have them too, yeah? Never can have too many envelopes.
Performance Utility Menus
Available in both Perf Config (perf selection) or Perf Edit. Accessed with [LEFT] or [RIGHT]. Left utility menu is for global functions, right is for perf-specific functions.
Destination List ( R )
Just shows a simple list of the current perf’s destination’s names in full, with the amounts shown numerically at the right side. Exit with [YES] or [NO].
Rename Perf (L,R)
Either rename the selected perf or the current perf being edited.
Stripe ( R )
When selected, the first mod’s dest param is copied to the remaining four and they are automatically assigned to TRK1, TRK2, TRK3, TRK4, and CV. (Not FX since it never functions as a chromatic instrument.)
Bake Mods (L,R)
(Left) The current mods are “baked” into the kit, and reset to their neutral positions (0 for positives, “64” for bipolars)
(Right) The same happens but only for the selected/current perf.
Randomize (L,R)
(Left) All perfs are randomized (non-destructive)
(Right) All destinations and mod amounts are randomized.
Destinations have a 25% chance of being randomized and mod amounts are randomized by 100%.
Selecting a param page should exit Param Edit
This might be considered just a bug but currently (at least on MKI) if you press a param page button while editing a perf, it unintuitively goes back to the Perf Config menu. Not sure if there was any intention behind this but I never got it.
Do you know is it a bug or some feature?
- if you’ve made few patterns and they are playing in Song mode then you’re pressing “+/-” (BPM speed), it changes for a while and sometimes it “bakes” to the pattern in the case if another pattern was started. I’ve noticed this when I was making a composition and did need to speed up playing to get to a certain point (to hear some PLock changes that were made before)
- I’ve noticed that if you’re playing and pressing “+/-” it acts as a temporal speed changer (great for lives, works like the same function in DJ players)
Please add to Note setup>Key scale another options of scales, not onliy min & maj (same list as on DT, STK). Thx.
Note events should trigger track leds.
Like on all Elektron devices except A4.
Yes and: there should be an option to enable/disable this feature. (On all machines).
