I’ll say it again: additional mute modes: per pattern and per bank. hard to make the most out of the analogs with only mute per project, compositionally speaking. A strange and hobbling limitation to my way of working.
i would really like it when i’m browsing for sounds if i could instantly hear the sound on which my cursor is on my sequence, instead of having to confirm it every time by pressing yes
Func-Yes almost the same and keeps the list open?
i don’t like it. still too much of a hassle.
i wouldn’t mind if i needed to hold down function while browsing for sounds or something though.
And it’s pretty normal to be able to do this with your machine
Probably been mentioned - but a toggle for linking the external input controls for FX sends as a stereo source instead of a fixed dual mono as in the digi boxes. Having to adjust two level / fx params equally for stereo sources is painful.

Please add an option to configure what program change value is send within each pattern
I am using A4 with AH+FX combo and really want to use one AH preset with multiple A4 patterns, but they change in sync
Can’t you just set the AH to not respond to program change, or the A4 to not send program change?
Right now it works this way:
A4 is on pattern 01, AH is on preset 01
when I change A4 pattern to 02, it changes AH preset to 02
when I change A4 pattern to 03, it changes AH preset to 03 e.t.c
I’d love to have an ability to set up what program change command is sent when I change pattern on A4
For example, when I change A4 pattern to 02, AH preset stays 01
when I change A4 pattern to 03, AH is still on 01
when I change A4 pattern to 04, AH preset changes to 02
Or maybe something similar to Octatrack, where program change is only sent when the kit is changing
Yeah that’s just how program change works on all the Elektron stuff I’ve tried. When running my DT and AK I just work on a new project and make sure to sync between patterns. You can just copy the same setup from pattern to pattern when needed. So if I have an unchanging pattern on my AK, but I am moving through variations on my DT, you just need to duplicate the AK pattern to make it match.
It’s possible to do what you want with some Elektron devices by sending PC messages from a MIDI track. Unfortunately I don’t think it’s possible on the Analog Four, as the MIDI implementation is limited.
I have a similar setup with A4 and AH, and just disable PROG CH SEND/RECEIVE, and switch AH presets manually.
There are some mentions of the clunkiness of the sound browser and sound manager already in the topic, so I will keep it simple.
My minimal viable request is at least make the sound browser remember the last position of the cursor rather than always defaulting back to the top of the list.
I think it could be a good option to choose!
Of course I wait for really big changes like PLock for Arp or retrigs and so on…
Yeah man - that’s a real annoyance
i would like to be able to use a (bipolar) expression pedal for pitch bend
I am gonna be so surprised now if the A4 gets another firmware update. I bet its already at its limit, given the comments made about the impossibility of a 2nd LFO for the Rytm
It was about two years since the last update(?) Do you think that Elektron Devs don’t give a F about so long topic here?
“OK, let them have a joy and write here about their fantasies! Children can get fun, huh?”
I think that if you’re right then this topic should got terminated when it was clear that A4 is on it’s limit already.
This didn’t happened. I’m pretty much sure that when you compile and upload a firmware then you get the info about the memory left on a device. So do you think that they’re making us “upset” (it’s a minor word for this possibility) for a purpose?
If my logic is wrong then I wait for your explanation, please.
I don’t belive it’s a memory issue, I believe it’s a CPU utilisation issue. They have to ensure its stable, even with everything going off at once.
That said, I would be happy with a “final” firmware that just brought quality of life tweaks, and no major additions. Just adding the Euclidian mode from the Rytm would be cool.
and “save trig as sound”
Euclidian is a “toy” basically. You don’t need it for serious things. PLocks for Arp or retrigs - it’s the major thing! And I believe it doesn’t consume more CPU.
The memory limitation is a real thing. Every FW addition takes a bit (or more) from the memory. I know this well from 3d printers’ FW modifying routine.
