I visited Toto’s current home at Ithumba, along with the other Sheldrick sanctuaries in Kenya, in early 2020 just before the pandemic hit. It was an incredible trip. (Correction: he was brought into Ithumba by former orphans living wild, but he is too small to stay there; he is at the Kaluku Neonate Unit, which is not open to visitors.)
