Oh there is much more like this to come if the problems are not resolved in Europe - just look at the current state of France.

to top all, BK Häcken just beat Real Madrid. I guess it is a good week for Sweden, eh?

Ooh, if I may, one thing that is not clear to me is how time stretch works. Can a sample time stretch according to a project tempo in real time. or is it just a setting for a sample, like you stretch it and that’s it, if you need to stretch it again then you have to set it up again.

Your answer may determine if I click the purchase button today or not, lol

next year it’s our election horror in hellgium !!! :frowning:

Oh yes, I put TM404 on my player today to celebrate swedish boomen day (or how to we call it?) :upside_down_face:

I feel like there was still more to say about the return of Swedish machines and jokes about automotive safety, am I wrong?

Incidentally, was the Nord stage 4 the last thing Clavia dropped?

I would love to see a hybrid device by Nord Elektron and TE.

TE does the design, Elektron builds the engine and Nord does the roms.

Swedatrack come to me

Is the Rytm still relevant for sex in 2023?

Interesting… in addition it seems to me that Nord are very clear about what they do, and even though their products aren’t cheap in gross terms you do get value in the end, robust and very practical instruments.

Whereas, for me anyway, TE have never really produced anything which has seemed that tempting, and they for example want to charge £1.3k for a pocket field recorder! So therefore I couldn’t see that particular hook up happening… just my view of course, I am sure many people love some of the TE stuff!

I really like Nord, I got an Electro many years back and still use it all the time. The thing has never had a single issue (probably jinxed it now ), and continues to be well supported. And it’s brilliant at what it does. Just a great, solid thing which sounds and plays amazing. So totally worth the outlay imo! And also I like to support locally produced things when I can, so even more kudos to the thing.

Thoughts about TE and Nord trying to ride in the same car (proverbially)

Only as a point of observation: TE caters to a generation of musicians who are always on the move, living in micro-spaces, modular lives as opposed to equipment, and who are able to spend money but not dedicate time or space to the money they spend (strictly observational, not saying something negative about TE).

Clavia / Nord is catering to a studio musician, a musician performing with an ensemble, a professional (working) musician or committed enthusiast with a fair amount of space to work in. Someone who buys the product often has a studio of some kind, home or otherwise, or may be on the road with the equipment or recording in an environment where they can sit down with enough space for an electric stage piano. This is not exclusively true because, of course, there are rack modules etc, but the majority of the product is meant to either be used with other large equipment or as part of a larger (space consuming) set up.

This could be part of the reason you won’t see them together, maybe less of a problem of upbringing but maybe perhaps the direction of marketing. Of course, people on here may be interested in both, but the number of people on here who would purchase the Nord devices and also choose to work on TE devices within the TE ecosystem may be smaller in number than the amount of interest devices from both brands may get from some of the same people.

I’m not saying they don’t exist, or that people don’t own both, like the Nord drum being popular with a lot of different kinds of musicians. It’s simply that when you compare the product lines side by side, everything TE has ever released can all together fit in the trunk of one car (probably with the field table on the bottom if the trunk were large enough), whereas you would need a fairly sizeable showroom to showcase the Clavia products, and this is due to the size of the equipment, thus it seems like their target audience is drastically different in (presumably) their needs as well as their workflow (but not necessarily their budget).

This may, however, say that Clavia / Nord is unable to read the room as far as the shift in who is buying equipment, but it may also say that their focus is simply on a different type of producer / performer / artist than TE’s.

Btw, is the TE logo a dick and balls and a hole?

Just asking…
