for this reason, sourced right angle leads or adaptors … for everything. Headphone jack, trs leads, trs-rca right angle connectors, right angle midi leads …
Effectively the advantage is, about two inches of space behind the Machinedrum and oT is not taken up nor required by the 90 degree connection leads or adaptors.
May also want to consider a double tiered stand if not already using one. One that screws into the sides of the boxes. It definitely is a space saver live
very true, although the Faderfox and the OTmkII will be the two essential items for a gig, and the Faderfox has the lead connection on the right hand side.
this means that the amount of space a double tiered stand would save compared to the Faderfox mx12 flat in front and the oT flat on the desk behind it, would not be all that much different.
also a double tiered stand requires more setup and the more minimal it is, the less sturdy it is, usually.
i sometimes get super awkward if there is much setup required for a gig, not sure why.
that said, would like to invest in a double or triple tiered stand eventually. in fact there was a gorgeous milled steel steampunk kind of stand being custom-manufactured by an Elektron User seven years ago, hoping to one day purchase a couple of them, if anyone is selling.
for now, the purchase of a high-end purple stereo rca lead was the last of a wild gallop of investment lol.
Very good points. I got a friend that gigs live with an OT and AR in a double tier but doesn’t unmout the boxes so its single unit to and from. Pretty simple.
More On topic: I prefer to use right angle cables, I feel like they save space and help Prevent cable wear and tear from bending and movement. Wish I could find inexpensive right angles midi cables
i was so going to buy a super expensive right angle midi lead with a rotatable switchcraft head lol
the high end stereo purple rca lead kind of put a dampener on that idea tho.
i would hesitate to recommend these as one of the connections is inverted … works with the faderfox as the mx12 midi connections are also inverted, whilst the md/ot midi connections are regular, so i bought two of them with free shipping bonus… $30au for two.

i must say i was initially deterred by the unexpected midi arrangement of those leads…
it was just an afterthought that maybe the mx12 might have inverted midi connections …
and hey presto yes the mx12 does in fact have the inverted female midi plug …
as for right angle midi leads these are the uber sensational option, the changeable Switchcraft heads…
