I would like to plug in a 48volt phantom powered condenser Rode NT1A in to my Octatrack mk2 and record some samples. Will this be a problem or not? I mean will the power be too strong/hot or something?
I am clearly not a veteran at electronics and help is appreciated!
The mic needs 48 V to drive it and Octatrack has line inputs, no microphone inputs.
Afaik some users managed to plug dynamic mics and guitars into OT without preamp, OT has massive digital gain, but it certainly won’t provide 48 volts for your mic.
I have a TC Helicon Touch Live and I run my Rode NT1A through it and was thinking of pluging that in to the OT but I guess I will either use a dynamic mic (AKG D5) or record straight to either a multitrack recorder or a DAW.
