2025 - ways around the pattern change bug with multiple machines?

About to get a DN2 to go with my ST after ditching my DT2. My biggest problem with using 2 Elektron boxes together is that when you have different track lengths and speeds, pattern changes do not work properly when sent from one device to the other - the following device always changes a bar later than triggered.

I’ve been using my iPad to send both boxes pattern changes at the same time, but that’s annoying. Has anyone come up with a good way to do pattern changes that work without extra gear?

Any word on Elektron fixing this anytime ever? It’s been literally YEARS since this was first brought up.

Have you reached Elektron support?
Please do and describe precisely how you do.

Anyone with such problem: write to the support, so they are aware this is a very problematic bug.

Oh they are 100% aware. I send an email almost once a year. Fredrik confirmed it was a problem way back when he and I spoke (when he was still with Elektron).

Problem was acknowledged at least 3 years ago

Maybe it does need everyone experiencing this problem to mail it in again, now ?

Apparently not of the “highest priority” given that it’s years old. Haha. I posted about it back in 2021 at least.

Using a third one was for me the solution too.
I know that sounds a bit harsh, because internet - imagine a smirk: Or you just use your hands and switch on both boxes. There are musicians that can operate a wooden stick with 6 strings on it, without looking!

My hands are tiny, and during pattern changes there’s usually other stuff that they’re doing for transitions. Regardless of whether there IS a workaround or not, they’ve known about this for at least 4 years and haven’t fixed it yet.
