1010 BlueBox as a mixer

With two Digis, some synths here and there (plus potential Octatrack soon) how do you see a 1010 BlueBox fit as a mixer performance and production wise?

I had one and I sold it. I just didn’t gel with it and I was kinda disappointed by the reverb and delay controls. Also for some reason it doesn’t have an on/off switch. Lots of positives though, teeny tiny footprint, lots of features. Pretty simple to use. Nice metal case. Looks cool (that’s important, right?)

But to be super honest, I’ll probably buy it again. I did a Maria Kondo recently when I moved and went ultra purge mode because a lot of things weren’t sparking joy. So maybe if I spend more time with it, I’ll change my mind. Not likely soon though as the yen is weak AF…

if it were a class-compliant audio interface, i’d snap it up in a second to multichannel my MPC One’s USB audio out. alas, it is not . . .

I’ve got one but have cooled on it. It sounds good, has lots of I/O, and if it could be used as an audio interface, I’d get more use out of it.

I’ve replaced it with a TE TX-6. It’s smaller, more versatile, but twice as expensive.

The bluebox is great. Some negative comments here that are totally fair but it’s completely unique in its form factor.

It’s really prone to noise though. 1/8” cables and usb power take some thought.

What’s your target? I agree the tx is quieter and generally more useful, slap it into an iPhone or computer and it’s your interface. Add a usb stick and it’s a field recorder. Usb rechargeable batter (and for recordings they will isolate power with the battery to stop any ground noise) but the bb is a bit more immediate and easier to label and route,

I think it;'s great too and gets fairly frequent software updates from a listening team at 1010Music. We use it as our interface / mixer / recorder for all sorts of sessions and it’s the first thing to come out of the box every time we set up. Small, easy to use, versatile and continues to be developed. Thumbs up and, from my POV, much preferred to using my MBP etc.

I’ve got one and am quite happy with it, noise issues for me have only been present when not adhering to 1010s very specific USB powering advice.

The lack of an on/off switch is annoying, but not a dealbreaker for me. I hate touchscreens, but eventually adapted.

I don’t use the internal effects at all, I just wanted a tiny footprint mixer that I could also use to record, this fit the bill perfectly. I’ve only used it in a studio setting, so not totally sure how it would suit a live environment (yet!).
