1/4" A/B a 3.5mm CV and 3.5mm GATE input

a/b cv out

I need some help please.

What lead do I need to connect the AK to an x0xb0x, the x0xb0x has 2 individual inputs both 3.5mm jacks.

I’m not a technical head so keep it simple please.

My local store sold me a stereo 1/4" headphone splitter to 2 seperate 1/4" stereo to 3.5mm jacks.

Definately not working unless I am not setting up the CV correctly, I suspect its the leads, the store didn’t inspire me with confidence tbh.

Each CV/Gate input on the AK is a 2 in 1.

One stereo 1/4" TRS from the AK split to two 3.5mm TS should give you what you need, provided that your other gear is using 3.5mm jacks for CV/Gate.

a bit hard to find in the other A4/Cv thread but here you go, these are the cables you need. y splitter male into the A4 CV (ab or cd) and then plug 2 1/4 to 1/8 cables to the TIP(black) RING(red) inputs and then to the x0xb0x cv pitch/gate

Apologies for the delay…Thank you for your help.

Searching for UK/.Euro source and ordering.

I am finding the x0xb0x via midi in the rig is sloppy :slight_smile:

Hopefully midi triggering the AK and CV out to the x0xb0x will help, if not Im going to look into ordering a sync box - but that’s getting pricey!!!

another cable you can use

its called an insert lead
and they don’t usually come in the configuration you require so the solutions are clunky. i mean you get them off the shelf with 1/4 inch jacks.
the neatest option is to either make a custom cable or buy an insert lead and use 1/4" to 1/8" adaptors its messy. or cut the mono ends off and replace with 1/8" minijacks
not ideal either way.

$25 for 1/2 metre, $10 for every extra metre in length

mix and match configurations
there are 2 options…

single cable insert lead with 1/8" mono jacks

Went for the cheapest option as I purely want to experiment a little so thanks to nirun.

Now need to get down to the nitty gritty of setup and learning the internal sequencer of Elektron!
