Firstly I’m used to switching patterns on the OT (the brain), and my A4 and Rytm are set so that they will follow (i.e. if I switch pattern B1 to B2, ALL machines end up in B2). This works fine.
But… I’ve got some patterns set to 1/2 tempo in the A4 (to grant myself 128 steps essentially, for some longer melodic lines), and when I switch to the next pattern on the OT, the A4 will flash the next pattern (B1/B2 for example), but wait for another full loop through B1 before actually jumping to B2.
How can I get around this? Thanks.
The only way I can get around this is if I advance the 1/2 speed patterns on the A4 manually, alongside the OT.
Twice the hand movements, not optimal if I can avoid it!
I’ve tried experimenting with different settings in Advanced Mode (scale settings), nothing seems to work.
Basically what I need is for the CHNG setting to be zero. Turning that off just means it’ll run through the pattern another full loop before jumping to the next, which is the same behavior I get when I have CHNG set to 64, for example (32 will roll though half the pattern on the A4, after the OT has moved on).
I hope this is making sense. It seems I’m not the only one having this issue, looking around at other threads, but others are having it in conjunction with software sequencers, not other Elektron gear.

Unfortunately it’s a bug. I’ve got a ticket in with support for this very issue and they have acknowledged and recreated it on their side. Hopefully that will get address after releasing overbridge.
I was using the AR to change patterns on the A4. My work around is to have the A4 change the patterns on the AR instead.

I don’t normally use advanced mode scale setups on the Rytm, but I tried just as an experiment and found it exhibits the same issue when taking pattern changes from the OT.
Elektron are hopefully aware of this as well.
Just gave it a spin with OT>AR and even in Direct Jump mode with no scale setting (just longer patterns) the AR does not jump directly ! #ARbug #A4bug

Try to change master pattern scale in octa on any one of tracks to 128 steps, but original bar size should be 64/64/1x - octa will repeat it 2x times, but it will change pattern after 128 steps only
