Quarter note triplets using retrigs

Hi

I want to program a bar of quarter note triplets (it’s actually just for a practice exercise). It needs to be against a 16 step grid as I want to hear the underlying quarter notes on 1, 5, 9, 13.

Eighth note triplets are 1-and-a 2-and-a 3-and-a 4-and-a

Quarter note triplets are 1-and-a 2-and-a 3-and-a 4-and-a

I can do eighth note triplets by putting a trig on 1, 5, 9, 13 and programming 1/12 retrigs

So I figured to do quarter note triplets just set the retrig to 1/6. That worked for steps 1 and 9 but a quarter note triplet doesn’t fall on 5 or 13 so effectively I need to turn those of and double the length of the ‘notes’ on 1 and 9 …

In other words, how do I get my 1/6 retrig’d trigs on 1 and 9 to play through steps 1-8 and 9-16 respectively or, double in the length?

in the retrig menu, double the length?

I tried that but it didn’t seem to work, I was in a rush though … not at my machine right now. I’ll try again bit later

Yes that worked! God knows what I was doing before. Thanks for reminding me sometimes it can be the obvious even when you think it isn’t or you think you’ve tried it already
