Arp Odessey Module or Moog Minitaur

If you want a true bass synth that’s super fat, to my ears, the best has to be something with a Moog filter… (I know many would disagree though!)

The Minitaur is super cool and has lots of pros, but I felt it was a bit limited in sound when I’ve used one. I personally bought a Sub Phatty which is utterly brilliant, and I gig with it every single week, but that’s twice the price. Similarly, the SE Boomstar 5089 sounds killing (Moog ladder filter again), but has no presets and is hella pricey for what it is. If you’re looking at Minitaur money, how about a Bass Station II? They sound really good and they’re hugely flexible, loads of room for presets etc…

I’ve never tried the ARP, but I own a Minitaur. On bass duties, the Minitaur is stellar. The only thing on it that I hate is that there isn’t any screen - so there’s no way to tell what preset you’re on.
