Yes it’s a custom aluminium faceplate as far that i understand. If it was mine i would replace the encoders with grey ones.

I wonder what having a large display would do for my own patching activities. It’s next on my list.

It makes working on larger sessions much smoother. I’m used to it now, and prefer it, especially as it has to be farther away, behind the gear.
Worked with a collaborator many years ago that had a 42" HDTV we did much work on. That’s what got me converted.
I still do some editing on my 15.4" MBP but for recording and finishing tracks, I definitely prefer the big screen.
