Pro tip: if a paint brush is in your hand, so should a beer! Makes it much more enjoyable!

Pro tip caveat: Keep track of any cups you may use. Last fall while painting my studio space I was using a red Solo cup while painting the trim. In my infinite wisdom, I also used a red Solo cup for my beer and came very close to downing a swig of Sherwin Williams.

Thanks! Yeah, I know having thicker panels on the ceiling would be better but I want the headroom. Same goes for the wall ones: I know putting a bigger air gap in there would help but I don’t want to eat in the room much more.

Every big stand should be on wheels. I bought a 2-tiered keyboard stand on wheels and a 12 space rolling rack and man, and playing instrument tetris is so much easier when big things are on wheels.
Switching stuff from one side to the other requires moving things from place A to place C while I move things in place B to place D and having those on wheels is amazing, instead of having to take everything off the rack or stands. Just roll 'em out the way!

Good wheels too. I got a rack for my studio and it’s on these tiny baby casters. Bought some new 3” casters for whenever I feel like pulling it down

I spent a few days rearranging and switching up where my desk and synths go, downsizing some gear I don’t use, and redoing a bunch of wiring. Still got some cable management and such to do, and some storage to figure out, but feeling really good about my space.
The thing under my keyboard stand is a shoe rack that I picked up on Amazon for ~$100. Two levels, padded top for when I want to put my feet up, and the lid opens for storage of miscellaneous stuff. Still cleaning up and sorting, but I’m pretty psyched about that find.

Yup! It’s this guy. It can switch between two different hosts, which was a selling point for me. I have a PC behind the rack and a mac mini on the desk. I’m mainly using the Mac Mini for recording and the PC for gaming, but the flexibility is really important to me

Last week, I’ve moved to a smaller place (from a house to an apartment). I’ve been emptying boxes all week beginning with the essentials, the kitchen, the bathroom and my kids room. In the process, I’ve been minimalizing and questioning myself about « do I really need this ». It feels good to go back to minimalism and give to people that are in the needs. Now, these past two days were about to rebuild my space who will serve as a Studio, a living room and a bedroom. These pictures are the first steps of the project. I’ve also been dreaming about a vinyl listening Station, it’s getting there.
More pictures will follow as soon as I get some elements of deco (plants, listening chair with a pouf and some art deco).

Live looping turned all the way up.
I load drum loops on the RC600. RC600 is master. Drum track stereo audio goes into OT thru track and L into the aux channel on the Ampeg and R into the Bose. I have 3 simple scenes setup on the OT: a spring reverb for rattling snare shots, a LPF to mute, and the classic filter/delay combo. When I play live I am sitting dow and the OT is to my left, currently I just reach over and manually adjust the crossfader but eventually I’d like to do it with my feet.
Guitar goes into the Octave pedal in poly mode which I then split. Bass is Super Chorus Muff to RC, Guitar it DS1 Attack Decay Memory Boy (what an underrated delay pedal!) Moodmk2 to RC. RC routes all the audio to the correct amp. RC clock and transport makes sure the OT effects are in sync. If you are wondering if I velcroed my OT to a pedal board I absolutely did
